Someone approached me this weekend about whether or not I allow people to re-sell my designs in Second Life. I don’t mean just a one off copy at a yardsale, but giving the person full permission copies for them to resell for profit. I do not begrudge the person for asking, but I thought it prudent to at least consider a personal policy on the matter.
*I do not have a problem with someone reselling an item that they purchased from me at a yard sale for either the same amount or less than the original purchase price. I do not condone the resale of freebies or discounted items for profit ever.
*I will not ever and I mean ever allow people to resell my design collections for their own personal profit from my work. I don’t care if they offer me 10% of the profit. Don’t even ask.
*I will not ever give out full permission items. Most of my newer designs are no transfer to prevent fraudulent behavoir. In a perfect world, I would love for items to be transferable, but until the overall permissions system is overhauled that is not going to happen.
