I decided to sign up for the online Weight Watchers program. I’m really glad they have an online system as I have zero interest in attending meetings and weighing in and all that bs. I have to say so far I’m impressed with the online management system, speaking as a techy and end user. Its super easy to use to manage your daily intake and exercise. Plus it appeals to my OCD internet habits.

I’ve already realized what one of my biggest problem areas is – eating lunch while at work. I just blew a huge chunk of my daily points on a chicken caser salad with dressing from Au Bon Pain. It ain’t no Big Mac from McDonald’s. I think sometimes we fool ourselves into believing if we are eating fresh salads and sandwiches that its much more healthy than grabbing a greasy fatty fast food alternative. In reality, they may be more nutritious, but are still high in fat, carbs and calories. The amount of points for 2 oz of salad dressing was more than the salad itself. The total amount of points for both was 15. My daily alotment is 26 not including the extra weekly points for splurging. In actuality,  if I had a Big Mac instead of a chicken caesar salad I would only have used 13 points.

Now lets see if I can stick with it for a few months. I’m super awesome at committing to things and being really into them and then completely abandoning them.
