Weight Logging
Friday, February 27th, 2009This week wasn’t one of my better weeks as far as dieting goes. I splurged a bit more than I normally do… gave into a cheeseburger, french fries, a Wawa hoagie and some regular ice cream. All that said I still managed to lose a pound, bringing my weight loss total to 14 pounds over the past seven weeks. With everything that has been going on with the house and other stresses in my life, I got a bit off cycle and reverted to some stress eating habits. Its bound to happen from time to time. Hopefully, now that everything is falling into place again I can get back in the swing of things.
Lucky 13
Saturday, February 21st, 2009I had to postpone weigh in by a day, because quite frankly it was too cold to take my clothes yesterday with no heat and all. I lost another two pounds this week bringing my total up to 13 so far, which is good. I think I am going to stick to the 25 points per day plan for now since i’m still losing weight. I think if I switched to 24 I might start losing too fast. Even dropping down from 26 to 25 hasn’t been too bad. I didn’t go over my daily as much as I had in previous weeks.
Also, when I was at 26 points, I was using about 10 out of 35 floater points per week. This week at 25 points, I used 3.5 points out of the floating 35. I’ve still yet to use more than 10 per week.
I seem like diet soda now, which surprises me because I always hated diet soda. I think the step down to Coke Zero makes regular diet soda not seem as horrible as I thought it was. I can see the difference in the weight loss. I looked at one of the pictures from yesterday and didn’t immediately want to shred it cause I looked awful. I could see the weight loss. It wasn’t a great picture, no makeup, schlubby clothes, but I still looked good.
Quandry, weight loss and wedding rings
Tuesday, February 17th, 2009My wedding ring has become fairly loose since I lost my first 11 pounds. My weight has been in the 200 range since we got married in 2005. I’m worried that as I start losing more weight, it is going to become unwearable. The problem with the style of my wedding ring is that it can’t be re-sized. When I ordered it originally, it was too big and I had to actually send it back and order a new one. It kind of leaves me in a quandry about what to do. Its too think of a band to wear another band, ring or engagement ring on top of it.
Weight Loss!!!
Friday, February 13th, 2009My scales did not fool me last weekend, I ended up losing 5 pounds this week total, which took me past my first weight loss goal, which was to lose 10 pounds, I’ve now lost 11 in the five weeks I have been on Weight Watchers. Today, I made a new goal, which is to lose another 10 pounds and decreased my daily points from 26 to 25, it suggested I go to 24, but I figure I’ve been doing fairly well at 26 and don’t want to dramatically decrease. I did get a warning message when I entered my weight this morning that losing more than 1-2 pounds per week can be unhealthy. I think it was mostly due to my last round of antibiotics and having to drink gallons of water a day.
Weird
Sunday, February 8th, 2009Every Friday is my weigh in day, since weights fluctuate numerous times during the day, I also weigh myself Saturday and Sunday morning just to maintain the accuracy of my weight loss. Friday and Saturday I weighed the same, this morning I weighed myself and I dropped three pounds since yesterday. The only thing that changed yesterday was that I started a new antibiotic Levaquin for my lingering sinus infection. It has a lot of weird precautionary measures, one of which is drinking a million gallons of water, so I don’t know if that somehow shifted me into some further weight loss. In any case, I’m gonna weigh myself again tomorrow to see if I am holding steady at my new weight. I certainly hope so because that would put me one pound away from my first weight loss goal.
The one month mark
Friday, February 6th, 2009I lost another pound this week bringing the total up to 6 pounds lost. I also have officially stuck to the diet for a full month, which is nothing short of miraculous. I should reach my first goal of 10 pounds lost within the next couple weeks. After that I will recalibrate my points and new weight goal. Currently, I have 26 daily points, 35 floating points per week and activity points based on how active I am during the week. Normally, I only use about 10-12 of the floating points and have yet to have to touch my activity points. I had 27 for this week alone. For my height (5’9″) the healthy weight range is between 135-169. Thats not even taking into account my gigantic boobs. I’m aiming for something in the middle to higher end since I have a large frame. At my lowest weight when I was 16 and still the same height, I was 128, but my average after that point was 145-150, which is my end goal target weight, but I can’t see getting down that far, best case scenario, for another 6-8 months. I’d even be happy with 155-160.
Its been a month since I’ve stopped somewhere on the way home to grab dinner i.e. Wawa, Quiznos, Chinese etc. We’ve gone out to eat several times for social occasions, but the frequent “i’m too lazy/tired/whatever to make dinner when I get home so lets get something on the way home from work” behavoir has stopped.
I’ve also brought my lunch to work every day for a month, only going out to eat once, yesterday at a local pizza/diner joint. Even then, I got a tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread with potato chips. It was a little more than I consume points wise for lunch, but I ended up under my daily allotment by 1.5 points. Considering that I used to eat in the cafeteria or out at local places every single day, this is quite a major accomplishment.
I still have room for improvement when it comes to exercise, but that is mostly due to the fact that I’ve been sick for the better part of the past 2-3 weeks. Its not to say that I am not getting any type of activity, its just limited to my daily traversing to and from my car, running errands, cleaning, shovelling snow, grocery shopping etc. It is, however, better than sitting on my ass doing nothing.
On the TMI front, since its the PMS week and fastly approaching the full of time o’ the month, I have not, yet at least, succumb to my usually behavoir. I have not stopped at McDonald’s for my monthly grease fix. I have not requested that Tim bring me a steak from Outback. I haven’t scarfed down anything and everything in sight that is made of beef, salty, greasy or chocolatey. Though I did make some nommy nachos the other night, reduced fat cheese is my new best friend. I love cheese, I really do. Most nonfat or fat free stuff is vile. Reduced Fat or Low Fat is the way to go. Seriously, fat free sour cream and cream cheese is a crime against humanity. But, I digress…
Dieting from the trenches
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009I’m still doing well, though I’ve hit a minor stumbling block… its getting near that time o’ the month. I still want to stick to the diet and have been doing well for the most part. I just get massive cravings for beef, chocolate and salty or greasy foods. Do I give into the cravings or try to stave them off as best as possible. I keep compromising on little things and trading off one thing for another. I grant myself one indulgence and then see what I can make fit without going completely off the rails. I discovered microwave popcorn with 94% fat free butter, which is hella filling and under a point, well unless I consume 5 cups of it.
Tonight for dinner I made a Smart Ones Pepperoni Pizza, it was a little higher in points than I thought it would be. I considered making Pizza Bagels, which I can do for 5 points — all you need is one Weight Watcher’s Bagel, 1/4 reduced fat Mozzarella and 1/4 Prego Spaghetti Sauce. While I was waiting for the pizza to get done I gnoshed on some reduced fat potato chips. I’ve budgeted out for the remainder of the night: popcorn, a Weight Watchers chocolate chip cookie and possibly a Grapefruit Soda. That would only have me go over by daily allotment by one point.
I’m getting a little better about eating more than just prepared foods. Over the weekend I made Stuffed Shrimp, which were awesome. It was fairly simple to make. I got 4 extra large shrimp and one lump crab cake. Seasoned it with white wine, lemon and some herbs and then I baked it. I also made Baked Scallops with a similar recipe.
Its all good though. I don’t know whether or not I will shed any pounds this week or next…. but onward and upward…
