I tend to weigh myself daily (when I remember) just to see what my highs and lows are within that weight range.

Focus on the positive -- the progress you've made. I'm also pretty sure that Weight Watchers suggests only measuring once a week because you can have daily fluctuations for all sorts of reasons. But, again, positives! I'm sure you'll continue to make progress.

That's good to hear. I think its important for people to know that being healthy and physically fit isn't as hard as a lot of people think it is. My biggest stumbling block was always falling victim to the "its too hard" mentality. Once I got over that it was smooth sailing the rest of the way.

Making time to prepare lunch in the morning can often take lots of motivation and planning, and sandwiches can get boring. If you are looking for some fresh meatless ideas check out our recipe page each Monday, right now we have a snow pea sesame salad http://www.meatlessmonday.com/snow-pea-sesame-salad/. ~VP

Thanks. So far so good I'm handling it well... just trying to balance out vitamins and supplements.

I'm used to it being a pain in the ass to go out to eat or to eat at some ones house, so I've just gotten used to bringing a veggie option for Tim. I know you can't rely on everyone else to make an extra main dish for dinner especially if its only for one person. I always check menu's online for restaurants so I know what to expect. Luckily, Tim doesn't tend to care too much and can make do with whatever is at hand.

I agree on the fishing too... We are running the danger of fishing entire species into extinction.

Welcome to pesceworld! :) I, too, came to it in stages. I never cared much for beef, so stopped that first, in 91. I found that I felt so much better I ate pork only rarely til I got so that it would make me sick when I did, so I stopped.

I came to the decision about poultry because I couldn't really justify it (both in terms of the animal side and the environmental impact) since I really didn't need it to live and be healthy. I was never cooking it anymore, just eating it once in a while out of laziness/habit, so stopped and really never missed it.

What I do miss is having it be easy to eat at other people's houses without having to discuss menu ahead, or being able to try local specialties when I travel. There's definitely something to being able to eat what's offered to you in hospitality. But other than that, I haven't missed it at all.

Now that fishing's having so much environmental impact in other ways, I have in the back of my mind that I'll have to revisit my choices at some point. But I'm really not ready for it now.

And health-wise, I've not had any problem with it except that it was years before I realized you need double the RDA of iron when you get it mainly from non-heme sources.
